The Episcopal Partnership for Mission & Outreach

I was hungry and you gave me food, thirsty and you gave me something to drink, a stanger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, sick and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me."

Matthew 25: 35-37

Our Mission:

Episcopal Partnership for Mission and Outreach (The Partnership) partners with and empowers the people of our Diocese to fulfill the challenge of our baptismal covenant to answer God's call to respond to human needs by:

  • Inspiring mission and outreach in partnership with every congregation
  • Supporting congregations as they develop, initiate and maintain outreach ministries
  • Raising funds to support congregational mission and outreach
  • Sharing the mission and outreach stories of the congregations
  • Assisting in preparing programs that provide education on the root causes of the needs to which congregations may respond with advocacy for change.

Our Vision:

The Partnership is living out our baptismal covenant to serve and bring light to those who struggle. In facilitating the collaboration of our congregations, The Partnership shares the strength and power of Jesus' call to walk in love with our neighbors. As the official outreach branch of the Episcopal Church in Western New York, The Partnership empowers local congregations to touch the lives of people through meaningful outreach ministry. The Partnership provides assistance through advocacy, education, resources and funding. These partnerships assist congregations in transforming hope into reality in order to best serve their respective communities in striving for justice.

Congregational Efforts

All of our congregations seek to serve the communities in which they are located. Some do so by providing meeting space for Scout troops, 12-step groups, and other community organizations. Others support social service agencies, like food pantries and after-school programs in their areas through donations of goods and money. Still others organize volunteers who visit nursing homes, mentor children, work on Habitat4Humanity houses and a myriad of other activities.

And then there are those that sponsor outreach ministries onsite at their locations:

Albion

  • Christ Church at 26 South Main St., in conjunction with several ecumenical partners, sponsors the Community Kitchen where every Friday from x to x pm a free warm meal, conversation and community is offered. Open to all.

Alden - St. Aidan's Church houses the Alden Food Pantry open every XXX

Attica - St. Luke's Church sponsors

Batavia

  • St. James' Thrift Shop located downstairs at 405 E. Main St. is open to the public every Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm.
  • St. James' also sponsors the George Rupprecht Fund which provides assistance to single parent families which include a daughter under the age of 19.

Buffalo, Ascension Church

Located at the intersection of Linwood and North in the Allentown District, Ascension Church sponsors a Pet Food Pantry froom 3 to 4 pm on the first Sunday of each month.
