Lorraine Hapeman Announces Retirement

Lorraine Hapeman, Executive Assistant to Bishop Franklin, will be retiring at the end of 2016.  Lorraine has served the Diocese of Western New York for 37 years in a variety of positions.  She has served as Executive Assistant to Bishops Bowman, Garrison & Franklin.

Lorraine was hired by Bishop Robinson in 1979 and held several positions in the Diocese before becoming the Bishop’s Executive assistant.  She has been an active member in B+E+S+T –  Bishop’s Executive Secretaries Together.  Lorraine serves as Secretary to the Standing Committee and has been the Secretary to Diocesan Council for much of her tenure.

Bishop Franklin said, “Lorraine has given so much to the Diocese of Western New York and to me, personally.  Her calm, focus and her smile are blessings in the midst of the busyness of the days. Her welcoming presence on the phone and in the office have meant so much to a generation and more of the clergy and laity of the Diocese of Western New York.”

Everyone is invited to a reception honoring Lorraine and thanking her for all that she has given to the life of the Diocese.  The Reception will be at the Diocesan Ministry Center on Thursday January 5 from 4 – 6 pm.

In lieu of gifts, contributions to a purse for Lorraine are welcome.  Checks can be sent to The Diocese of Western New  York, Attn: Maria Manocchio, 1064 Brighton Rd, Tonawanda, NY 14150 and marked “Lorraine” in the memo line.
